* Marketing of Books for academic institutes
* Web & Software Development
* Marketing of Library Management Software and other Software
From October 2001 onward I have been independently running a subscription agency,. INFOTRACK LIBRARY SOLUTIONS. The main office is located at Distirct Centre, Janak Puri, New Delhi. Apart from handling journals and periodicals, the company has diversified into marketing of books, Library Management Software and various other software. In 2012 Infotrack have developed a academic online library K-Hub
During August 2003 - January 2004, I was assocaited with Elsevier, New Delhi as a freelance trainer. In this capacity I conducted training for users of ScienceDirect at different institutes. Elsevier publishes over 1800 journals, the full text contents of these journals are available at ScienceDirect (SD) which is the largest platform for online journals.
In the year 2003 many large academic institutes in India have formed a consortium for online resource sharing. The major consortium is called INDEST (Indian Digital Library in Engineering Science & Technology), which consists of IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), IIMs (Indian Institute of Management) NITs, (National Institute of Technology), IIITMs (Indian Institute of Information Technology & Management) and other institutes. Ministry of Human Resources, India has taken the initiative to provide the funds for this consortium.
The other consortium formed are Council for Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR - 40 labs in India) and Department of Atomic Energy (DAE - 12 labs in India).
Under these consortium Elsevier, ScienceDirect subscription has been included for online subscription. My job profile during the association with Elsevier was to visit these institutes and collectively approach the librarians, faculty staff and the end users so as to train them with following aims on behalf of Science Direct:
i. To stimulate the usage of ScienceDirect
ii. To inform librarians how to instruct users in the use of ScienceDirect and how to promote ScienceDirect in their library
iii. To strengthen customer relations
iv. To promote ScienceDirect awareness
v. To obtain feedback from users about ScienceDirect features and functionality.

In my previous assignment in the same trade, I worked with GLOBE PUBLICATION PVT. LTD. as Manager Marketing for 9 years. Globe is a leading International subscription agency, which handles subscription of foreign scientific & technical journals published world over. During the association with Globe my job included the handling of Major clients viz. IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), IIMs (Indian Institute of Management), Universities, Medical Institutes, & R & D Labs of Department of Atomic Energy, Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Indian Council for Agricultural Research & Defence Research & Development Organisation.
The nature of Job included the monitoring,marketing & operations of branches located in Major Cities of India viz. Mumbai, Bangalore, Calcutta and Delhi. Each branch had 3 to 4 Marketing Executives and were reporting directly to me.
Since the clientale were prominent Government Organisations of high repute they were normally used to be visited by myself for various purpose.
While handling major institutes for fulfillment of subscription orders and providing them subscription services I had extensively traveled in North, East, West & North East of India.
I was involved in diversification of Globe's operations in Indian Subcontinent and Middle East. I also travelled to Bangladesh, Pakistan and United Arab Emirates and new business were generated from these countries.
Following responsibilities were handled
Worked with CHEMTECH FOUNDATION an industry association. The objectives of the Foundations were to organize International Exhibitions, seminars and conferences. I was involved in space selling for the two major exhibitions i.e. CHEMTECH series and ENVIROTECH series. The other work involved, organizing the regional conferences and seminars, liaison with the Ministries, Govt. Deptts. & PSUs. The other job involved were to book the advertising space for CHEMICAL ENGINEERING WORLD (CEW), a monthly journal Published by Industrial Publications, one of the group company.
October 1985 to April 1988
Started my career with EUREKA FORBES LTD. as Sales Representative. Job involved selling the AQUAGUARD-ON-LINE water purifier directly to the consumer. Extensive door knocking were involved in domestic and institutional sector.
Skills
While working in my previous assignments I had learned the basics of Computer operations. I am well versed with Microsoft Word, Excel, MS Access, Power Point & MS Outlook Express These are essential tools, and I have learnt to handle these tools effectively in day to day work.
I am well versed with Internet and have good knowledge about finding information in respect to subscription of journals. I have fairly good knowledge about the online subscriptions policies of various publishers and vendors.

- Two Marketing Coordinator were reporting to me and under my supervision they were replying tender inquiries, answering subscriptions queries.
- Globe also promotes 10 International publishers in India & its subcontinent countries i.e. American Mathematical Society, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Scandinavian University Press (Taylor & Francis), IOS Press, DMG International, Humana Press, (SIAM) Society for Industrial & Applied Mathematics & CABI. From time to time the guidance were given to the departments handling these publishers for planning, mailings, exhibitions and the visits to institutes for promotion of journals.
- I had prepared a detailed training schedules covering various aspects of periodicals marketing and other essential details. New marketing staff were trained as per this training schedule.
